Fun Lunch Friday- Steak Cattle & Roll

As some of you may be aware Elanor from Tiggy Poes and Flutterbys and I are work wives and as such we try to leave the office on a Friday every so often to grab some lunch. Thus became Fun Lunch Fridays! Our most recent trip was my choice and inspired by my up and coming trip to America I wanted to grab some American style cuisine. By up and coming I really mean I was leaving the next day so it was a great opportunity to spend time with Elanor and try put off packing. Anyway I chose to go to Steak Cattle & Roll situated a mere 5 minute walk from the office.

You may have read my post about lunch at Bar Mercado sadly it no longer has a place in Merchant Square, Glasgow but has been replaced by the very subject of this post: Steak Cattle & Roll. Having looked online at their menu and saw they offered an exceptional lunch menu I knew this was the taste of America I was craving.

Steak Cattle & Roll offer two lunch options: the Mini Munch and the Mega Munch. We both opted for the Mini Munch which consisted of a 4oz burger or salad, fries, garlic corn on the cob and the daily special sauce or slaw. The Mega Munch was similar but had a 6oz burger and came with 2 chicken wings. I was feeling a little ill from excitement and nerves at the thought of flying to America the next day for 4 weeks so knew the Mini Munch would be more than enough for me. Elanor, well she doesn’t like chicken wings so it was the obvious choice for her. I ordered the classic cheeseburger and Elanor had the Deep South Burger. They both arrived in little baskets which just begged to be instagramed! And the food tasted even better than it looked-even after Elanor picked off all her accompaniments!

I have to say the meal was absolutely delicious and filling, seriously great value for money! The Mini Munch only costs £4.50 and the Mega only £8.50. So no matter the size of your appetite your bank balance will love you for it!

I am currently in America but can’t wait to get back to Glasgow, back to my work wife and back to our next Fun Lunch Friday! It’s Elanor’s choice next, I hope she picks a good one!

  16. Oooh, I LOVE a good all-American menu - one of my favourite meals ever was sticky ribs at The County Line restaurant in Austin, Texas. Delish!!! x
