Craft Gin Club #1

Is it gin o’clock yet? Hell yeah it is!!! It’s always gin time on my watch! If you haven’t noticed- I love gin! Yes that’s right I am a gin jenny! So when I saw Craft Gin Club on Dragon’s Den I had to get a piece of the action! I set up a subscription and here without further ado is my first ever Gin of the Month!

So what is the Craft Gin Club I hear you ask? Well the Craft Gin Club especially select the finest small-batch gins in the world and send them alongside lovely gourmet treats and a copy of their club magazine to their members. It is a different gin every month hence the Gin of the Month! How exciting!! It is a gin lover’s dream! The subscriptions are either monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly. Each Gin of the Month Box costs £40 with free p&p. I found this to be a brilliant price as one of my favourite gins costs me £35 a bottle so to get a full sized bottle of gin plus tonic and snacks…bargain! I also chose the quarterly subscription…I don’t have the shelving capacity for a new bottle every month-wish I did though!

This was my first box and boy was I excited and just in time for my birthday weekend too! So what did I get? Well…

Full sized bottle of Blue Bottle artisan Dry Gin

200ml bottle of Franklin & Sons Ltd Natural Indian Tonic Water

50ml Dry Vermouth…YOU CAN’T HANDLE VERMOUTH!!

36g bag of Joe & Seph’s gourment popcorn infused with Gin & Tonic

10g bag of G&Tea green tea leaves

Ginned! Magazine

The Blue Bottle gin comes from the amazing Three Fingers Distillery on Guernsey and contains a unique mixture of aromatics and botanicals to create a beautiful tasting gin. With the tradition juniper present but not overpowering there is also hints of local flowers grown in the region and spices such as nutmeg and cubeb pepper. It is recommended to drink this with pink grapefruit but alas I has none and settled for lemon but it still tasted fantastic! But be warned! With 47% ABV it packs a punch!

The popcorn from Joe & Sephs’s was beautiful! Lovely crunchy caramel popcorn with the flavours of a G&T it is guaranteed to put a smile on gin and popcorn lovers faces! It was a perfect little snack to have after my dinner with a glass of Blue Bottle G&T.

I haven’t yet tried the G&Tea but judging from the smell I really can’t wait!! The aromas just fill the air when you open the pack and it’ll certainly turn some heads when I brew a cup later today in work.

So there you have it, the Gin of the Month subscription box from Craft Gin Club. What’s stopping you gin lovers? Get subscribing, discovering and tasting the amazing gins of the world!

Look out for November when I get my next lovely gin!

  2. That popcorn is to die for - we always get it in Centerparcs! I love the idea of alcohol coming to your home monthly and you could build up a nice little collection (If you can abstain from drinking the whole bottle in a month!)
